Will you be the Budweiser Superfest 2011 ‘Opening Act’ who performs on the Jill Scott Summer Block Party tour? Budweiser and MySpace Music are searching for singers who have what it takes to open up for the R&B/soul star. If you think you fit the bill, and are over the age of 21, all you have to do is submit a live, a  capella video of you singing either Chaka Khan’s classic, “Sweet Thing”, or Brian McKnight’s breakout single, “One Last Cry” to the Budweiser Opening Act MySpace Page. The winner of the competition will not only have the opportunity share the stage with Miss Scott, Anthony Hamilton, and Mint Condition, but also will be awarded $25,000.
This is a great chance for artists to take their career to the next level.

The concert tour features Scott’s classic hits and songs from her just-released and highly anticipated fifth studio album The Light of the Sun, including the popular single “So in Love.”

“Budweiser Superfest is back and better than ever with Jill Scott’s unique brand of urban soul,” said Bryan Hammonds, Budweiser Brand Manager. “This year builds on the successful 2010 revival of Superfest as Budweiser continues to bring great concerts to music fans in cities nationwide.”

Scott will be joined by special guests, Grammy® nominated R&B singer Anthony Hamilton and groove specialists Mint Condition with music provided by DJ Jazzy Jeff and hosted by party starter Doug E. Fresh. Select markets will also feature performances by Dwele, Anthony David or Jon B.

Making a Difference Through College Scholarships
In the spirit of making a difference in local communities, Budweiser brewer Anheuser-Busch is celebrating the performances by donating $150,000 from its Foundation to the UNCF (United Negro College Fund); presented as $10,000 scholarships in 15 Superfest concert cities. The scholarships will be awarded to local students attending a UNCF school.

The Anheuser-Busch Foundation also supports UNCF’s national programs, bringing its total UNCF contributions to $250,000 in 2011.  Anheuser-Busch has supported UNCF for more than three decades, initially as the founding sponsor of the Lou Rawls Parade of Stars telethon.

“Opening Act” Competition Invites Local Performers to Take the Superfest Stage
